March 20: Bergen Barokk, Currentes and Spir in Bergen Cathedral

Collaboration between Bergen Domkirke, Vocal Ensemble Spir and currentes. In the programme “Ascendes in altum” there will be music on the themes Earthly desire and Divine love.

April 22: J.S. Bach – Passion after Matthew in Bergen Cathedral

Johann Sebastian Bach’s magnificent setting of the passion story according the gospel of Matthew. Collaboration between Bergen Domkirke, KorVest, Barokksolistene and Bergen Barokk.

April 25 – May 1: Recording “Harmonischer Gottesdienst”

Bergen Barokk recording vol. 7 in the series of G. Ph. Telemann’s cantata cycle “Harmonischer Gottesdienst”. The programme of this recording is selected from the cantatas for high voice, oboe and basso continuo. Performers: Jan van Elsacker (tenor), Eduard Wesly (oboe), Adrian Rovatkay (bassoon), Markku Luolajan-Mikkola (cello), Thomas Boysen (theorbo) and Hans Knut Sveen (harpsichord/organ). Producer: Jørn Pedersen. Sound engineer: Geoff Miles. The recording will be made at Hoff church, Østre Toten, Norway.

May 14: Recording last part of Holberg 3

The last bits of the last recording in the series “A Holberg Recital”.

June 29: Musica Nord – festival “Grieg in Bergen”

Bergen Barokk plays 18th Cent. French court music in the chamber music festival “Grieg in Bergen”. The programme “Alla Francese” is based on Ludvig Holberg’s own descriptions of his personal musical preferences. With Frode Thorsen, Thomas Boysen and Mikko Perkola.

September 2 and 4: “Lydforsking” in Håkonshallen, Bergen

Bergen Barokk in duo with Trond Lossius’ soundscape at the Bergen Medieval Music Days, celebrating the 750 years anniversary for the hall. The concert is a part in an ongoing project in development between Lossius, Thorsen and Sveen.

September 25: Tersløsegaard, Denmark

Frode Thorsen, Markku Luolajan-Mikkola and Hans Knut Sveen perform music from the “Musical Club”, a place Ludvig Holberg frequently visited during his time in Oxford.
